Das Weingut LANZ VINEYARDS befindet sich im australischen Weinanbaugebiet Barossa Valley - South Australia, nur ein paar Kilometer nördlich des Wein-Städtchens Lyndoch, etwas mehr als 1 Autostunde (72 km) nördlich der südaustralischen Stadt Adelaide und mind. 16 Stunden (1400 km) westlich von Sydney in New South Wales.

Zur Geschichte des australischen Weinguts Lanz Vineyards & LanzThomson Vineyards:
Die ausgewanderten Schweizer THOMAS (siehe Bild oben rechts) und MARIANNE LANZ (Bild Mitte rechts) begannen 1998 zusammen mit ihrem langjährigen australischen Freund BRIAN THOMSON mit dem Weinanbau im bekannten südaustralischen Weinanbaugebiet Barossa Valley. Das Weingut hiess dazumal LanzThomson Vineyards.

Dann fiel die Entscheidung von Thomas und Marianne Lanz eigene Weg zu gehen und im das Weingut LANZ VINEYARDS war geboren. Die Weinberge umfassen 16 Hektar Weinrebenfläche mit Shiraz-, Grenache- und Mourvèdre-Trauben in Lyndoch, südwestliches Barossa Valley.

Zum erfolgreichen Lanz Vineyards-Team gehören nicht zuletzt der Winemaker MICHAEL PAXTON (Gruppen-Bild ganz rechts) und der Weinrebenanbauer DAVID PAXTON (Gruppenbild Mitte).

Brian Thomson und Anne Moroney produzieren immer noch auf dem Nachbar-Grundstück ihre eigenen Weine unter dem Weinlabel MOOLANDA.
Moolanda ist ein Aborigine-Wort und bedeutet “from the far side” - "von der Ferne".

Lanz Vineyards - Barossa Valley South Australia:
The Lanz Family started their vineyards in 1998 forming a joint-venture with their long-time friends Thomson as partners. For more than a decade they operated successfully under LanzThomson Vineyards. Then joint decision was taken to go separate ways business-wise: since then, the spin-off of the Lanz Family is operating under the label LANZ Vineyards.

Viticulture, vineyard management, winemaking and grape sales are in the hands of Paxton, renown throughout Australia for their professionalism. The quality of the grapes of the so called Outlook Vineyards has been upgraded steadily and, together with consultancy of one of the top-clients, has now reached A-grade quality with the main part of its grapes.

The lion share of the grapes is sold to other premium wine producers in the Barossa Valley. The LANZ wines are produced only of a small part of the grapes – the best, of course!
